Size options
The sizes displayed on our website are the manufacturing sizes for the doors themselves, this includes the overall height from the bottom of the 190mm cill and the overall width of the product itself. We offer two panel sliding doors for ease of fitting with sizes starting at 2000mm through to to 36000mm wide so we have a vast range of size options to suit openings large and small.
The masons opening where the door needs to be installed into needs to be slightly larger so the door can be installed level and plumb into the opening. Read the section below on ‘preparing for sliding door installation’ for information on measuring and preparing the opening for your new sliding doors.
Opening type options
As viewed from the outside the doors can slide to the left or can slide to the right. The best way to choose the opening type for you new sliding doors is to stand in the garden looking back at the house, then simply select which way you want the doors to slide open.

Large lever handles are used on our lift and slide doors. By rotating the handle you can elevate the door to slide and then rotate back to lock the door in any position.

Laminated glass is a requirement for new build homes under the Part Q building regulations but it is not a legal requirement for replacement installations.
We recommend laminated glass if you have security concerns or will require your installation to be signed off by building control. To learn more about laminated safety glass and whether it is required for your home visit the glazing options page on our website.

If you’re going to pay someone to install your sliding doors for you then we recommend that you use the same person to measure the opening. If they are happy to take responsibility for fitting the doors, then they should be confident in measuring the opening also. If you are planning to install them yourself then by all means you should measure them up yourself. The measuring of your doors is a key part of the process so take your time and make sure you are one hundred percent confident prior to ordering your doors.
To correctly measure your new sliding doors, you need to work out the size of the masons opening and take into account the bottom track detail of the door that you will be ordering. The XP Slide LS25 has a deep twin track, which is sat on a 190mm external cill, this gives an overall track height of 68mm. The doors outer frame needs to be set 30mm back from the outer brickwork so the base needs to be fully supported even over the cavity to make sure all the weight of the door is sat on a solid base.
Preparing the base for the door to be installed onto.
The base needs to be solid to take the weight of the doors. The doors also need installing onto a base that is completely level, this can be achieved by using packers. The doors also need to sit on top of a damp proof membrane. The membrane needs to be properly installed before the installation can take place.
How to measure
Firstly, check the opening is square and level. Take a large spirit level and measure the cross corners of the aperture, to make sure that the opening is perfectly square and true.
Take three measurements for the width and three measurements for the height – one at each end, and one in the middle of the opening. Deduct at least 10mm from the smallest of those measurements to get the size of the door. The tolerance is up to you, this can be determined by how level the opening is and how confident you are with your measuring. Always deduct the tolerance from the smallest of the three measurements, this will ensure there are no sizing issues when you come to install the door.
The width and height of your sliding door should be the size of your masons opening, minus a fitting tolerance of between 10 and 15mm. If your opening is already formed and you can’t see set sizes on our website that suit your opening, then you will need to order a bespoke set of bi-fold doors. We can offer this service through our parent company Express Bi-Folding Doors, you can visit their website by clicking here.
Once you know the size of the doors that you are going to order you need to think about the threshold and the bottom tracks. The total height of the bottom track is 68mm so if you want a flush internal finish with your floor running level with the track then you need the sink the bottom track of the door by slightly less than 68mm beneath your finished floor level.
The doors themselves are heavy so installation will be a two-person job. As long as the opening was measured properly and you’ve purchased the correct size, you should find installation to be a relatively stress-free process, the outer frame will need fixing into position level and square and then the panels need glazing and packing square to ensure the doors operate correctly.
We recommend a skilled DIY enthusiast or tradesmen install the doors. The outer frame needs assembling and installing level and plumb. The panels then need inserting and once complete need glazing & packing correctly.
TIPS
Silicone bonding of the interlock is required. We’ll provide the silicone bond that literally glues the slim 25mm interlock frame to the glass, this needs to set after installation so once the bonding is complete we recommend locking the door shut for 24 hours to allow the bond to set properly. A small inconvenience that allows for stunning slender sightlines.
Remember to measure your door frame at three different heights, and subtract 10mm from the smallest measurement, to ensure you get the right door size door when purchasing.

The lift and slide system is perfect for twin track 2 panel sliding doors. The product offers superb value and the lift and slide functionality is perfect for homeowners with young children, homeowners who would otherwise struggle to slide a heavy glass door and for homeowners who want the largest possible glass areas combined with smallest possible sightlines.
DESIGN & ENGINEERING
The interlock is structurally bonded on site during the installation phase, which allows us to create really sim sightlines of just 25mm. Despite the slender sightlines the lift and slide system is highly robust, with excellent thermal efficiency that can achieve overall U values as low as 1.3 W/ m2K.
The system enables you to lock the door in any position. As the door lifts onto the ball bearings, the quality of the system minimises the weight, meaning that a double -glazed unit weighing up to 200kg can be easily slid to one side.
Another benefit of this door is that it is surprisingly affordable despite it’s premium specification.

Solid as concrete, but light and easy to use. Our sliding doors are manufactured using a liquid component that’s injected into the panels, which sets hard as rock. So if you’re looking for sliding doors that are secure and reliable, you’re in the right place.
Our aluminium sliding doors offer best-in-class security with features such as:
Door gearing which collapses and locks around the rollers securing the panel in place
Multi lock keeps
Interlocking profiles on sliding panels
Anti-lift blocks in the head of all panels
Internally glazed
DESIGN FOR SAFETY
We’ve designed the XP Slide LS25 sliding doors with safety in mind, too. We know that you’ll get a lot of use out of your doors, so we’ve made sure that every project is installed with a flush bottom track, so you don’t have to worry about little ones tripping up. It looks much more aesthetically pleasing without the unsightly upstand too.
TOUGH LOCKS
SECURITY LOCK BARREL CYLINDERS AS STANDARD
We know that it’s important that your external sliding doors are as secure as they are stylish, which is why we use premium 3-star diamond-rated BSI cylinders throughout our door range. Anti-snap, anti-drill, anti-pick and anti-bump, these lock cylinders we use exceed the 2-star standard required for Secured by Design accreditation.
We supply these cylinders in doors with half a barrel, so our sliding doors are just as secure from the inside as the outside. Put your mind at ease with our secure sliding doors.
The keys for our sliding doors can be cut at any locksmith, unlike other Secured by Design standard lock barrels which need a specific lock card to have spare or emergency keys cut. The lock barrels themselves are supplied by one of the world’s leading manufacturers of lock cylinders, perfectly complementing our industry leading range of products.
The new windows look great, the whole process has been easy and stress free, thank you
